- Before supplementation, read minimum and maximum doses provided by the manufacturer on the label of the product.
- Also check the label for sorbitol. This is an artificial sweetener and can lead to cramps, bloating, diarrhea, and gas in people who do not even have IBS.
- As with the fiber powder, fiber pills with the goal is to just continue until you gradually increase your dose to stabilize, and then continue on the same dosage.
- Please note that different manufacturers may have different maximum dosages on the labels. Contact the individual product minimum and maximum dosage they recommend. The weight of soluble fiber per teaspoon / tablespoon / pill dose of the various supplements may vary.
- If you have a problem with a single dose, then divide your doses throughout the day according to your need and choice. It is always better to keep your bowels constantly filled with soluble fiber, making a number of smaller doses are often much more useful than a single large daily dose.
